TMI Tuesday #1

Hello beauties! I'm starting a new thing today called TMI Tuesday. This is going to be the ONLY time during the week that I will subject you to the bore that is my actual life!

Teehee ^^

Anyway, I hope all of you are doing well. Things are alright here. So sick of this winter in Maryland though! I literally feel like going outside and punching every single snowflake in the face! It won't work though, but it is a nice thought! I am heading into work early for the third time this week and though I LOVE my job and don't mind, I had hoped to de-clutter this week with my male bestie in Florida for the week. Oh well, I will get to it eventually. Would you guys like me to write about my beginnings in de-cluttering? Let me know in the comments below!

I went to the local St. Patrick's Day 'celebration' over the weekend. It's called the Hooley and basically the at least a 1,000 of my city's craziest residents come out and get just a little bit sloppy on green beer. BUT!!! My friend Tonya flew in from Texas and I managed to plan a night out with her! Here we are in our green finery!

So cute!! Much gorgeous!!
I also got a present of sorts from my brother over the weekend. A new computer! Well, new to me. He has revamped it and it's running Windows 8.1. I hope to be using the current computer for school and personal things and to use this new gem for my YouTube channel, blogging, social media interactions, etc.

So shiny!

I also had a bit of time this past weekend to construct a cosmetics storage rack out of foam board. This literally cost me under $10 to make. It's not perfect but it works and is MUCH sturdier than I imagined!

Finished!

Filled up!

Isn't it so cute? I love it.

Well, I'm getting antsy and I do have an early day at work, so I'll see you next TMI Tuesday!

Until then, Beauties..

March 2014 Skoshbox.....OH....MY....

I recieved my March Skoshbox in the mail recently and was super eager to try it out! I actually had my brother assist me this time! Let's get into the hilarity!

Here is my box in all of its previously un-nibbled glory!

Some starting info: Skoshbox is a company based in Hawaii that ships imported snacks from Japan to the United States and any US Territories. It is $12 a month and we've received between 9-12 snacks. It really depends on the month. It is a recurring subscription service that bills on the first of the month.

Let's check it out...

Each box comes with a card...

And each item is listed on the back, and also includes useful ingredient information for allergy sufferers!

1: Pretz Roast-A pack of buttery roasted biscuits from Glica, the makers of the famous Pocky. This snack was lightly sweet, crunchy, and the perfect palete cleanser between snacks!

2: Kokeshi Arare-WHOOPS! Forgot to take a picture of it before we tested, but look at the box picture above for reference. This was a combination of a stick shaped rice cracker and a round rice cracker. The round one had a peanut inside and was crunchy/nutty. The stick itself had a smooth, shiny coating. It was more savory than anything else, and was almost bordering on salty. Not bad.

3: Apple Pie Cream Sandwich-This was a little broken but a very pleasant surprise, as it tasted EXACTLY like a fresh natural apple pie in cream cookie form. It was heavier on the apple taste and it was very nice.

4: Umaibo: Natto (White and purple package and also pictured without wrapping) and Tonkatsu (Blue packaging) flavors. This has the crispness of a cheese curl but with very different seasonings. The Natto (fermented soy bean) flavor actually gave the tongue a tingling sensation, was bean-ish (?), and almost had a undescribable taste. Not bad but not my favorite. The Tonkatsu flavor was a nice mixture of roasted pork, teriyaki, and savory flavors with just a kick of mustard. Very yummy!

5: Kit-Kat White: A nice white KitKat with white coating and a brown wafer center. I can only describe this as tasting a LOT like cookies and cream ice cream! YUM!

6: Dried Fish Jerky: Tako (Octopus) flavor. Oh sweet mother of no freaking way! Jonah did this one on his own...

Jonah had to psyc himself up, took a few bites, and then just looked very confused. Apparently it was preserved with a layer of vinegar so as not to spoil, but aside from that, Jonah reports it tasted "Like seawater". Go brave, bro!

7: Almond Chocolate: I would liken the texture to a Hershey Bar with Almonds, BUT instead of the tang of American Chocolate, it had the smooth, light taste of Japanese chocolate. Very nice.

8: Chelsea Scotch Candy: We received the butterscotch flavor, but this was nothing like the familiar butterscotch buttons of home and was instead creamy and tasted like a Werther's Original.

9: Strawberry Look Chocolate: This was awesome! It was a freeze-dried strawberry surrounded by chocolate. It was crispy and tart while being smooth and sweet. LOVED IT!

10: Green Tea Chocolate: The prettiest chocolate I've ever seen. This had a yummy outer shell of matcha (green tea) flavored chocolate. The only drawback was a layer of dense, chewy azuki filling (bean flavor). It tasted good but the textures didn't mesh well. Still delicious though!

SURPRISE! They included an extra this month!

11: Hiragana chart- This was a cute little card with the pictured Japanese characters, and the back came with a handy character combining chart, and little practice lines. Very cool!

Overall this month was FABULOUS! I loved it. I would recommend this box for any adventurous souls looking for something new and out of the ordinary!

Until next time, snacking beauties!
